NeuMat Spotlight: Novel Computing Paradigms at Los Alamos

NeuMat is delighted to highlight the 2026 Workshop for Novel Computing at Los Alamos, co‑hosted by Prof. Judith Driscoll (University of Cambridge) and Los Alamos National Laboratory, taking place 28–30 July 2026 at the historic Fuller Lodge, Los Alamos, New Mexico.

As conventional CMOS scaling slows and computational demands accelerate, this international workshop will bring together leaders across materials science, device physics, algorithms, and computer architecture to explore unconventional computing paradigms, with a strong emphasis on neuromorphic and near‑memory computing. The programme spans memristive and ferroelectric devices, magnetic and photonic platforms, novel low‑power architectures, and algorithmic approaches that directly exploit device physics.

The workshop features an exceptional line‑up of speakers from academia, national laboratories, and industry.

By fostering deep interdisciplinary exchange across theory, experiment, hardware, and software, the workshop aims to catalyse new collaborations and define future directions for next‑generation computing.

Registration is now open.
